Hummingbird Craft Project


Have children draw a hummingbird or print one you find from the internet. Talk about how a hummingbird is the smallest bird, can fly backwards, uses the long beak & tongue to suck nectar and live in cup-shaped nests. Have the children draw and cut out a nest. Cut a slit in the nest so the bird can be inserted.

Learning About Turtles


To show how a turtle's shell protects the turtle, allow the children to make a small turtle from Play-Dough. Put a small container over it and ask them to try and smash the turtle. They cannot. The shell protects it. Now remove the shell and ask them to smash the turtle.

Earth Art Project


On one day children paint a coffee filtar blue with water color. On a second day they dab on green water color. When dry, glue to a black background and add stars. This is a view of earth from outer space.

Pelican Bird Craft Project


Freehand a picture of a pelican and cut out. Explain to children they have huge, straight beaks and a soft pouch underneath to help hold the fish they catch. Children can glue on white feathers and fish in the pouch.

Shaggy Dog Craft Project


Children use their scissors to make this a shaggy dog by cutting on the bottom of the face, body, legs and tail. Shapes are then glued together to make the dog. A leash can be added, if desired.

Spring Flower Craft Project


Needed: 1 sheet construction paper, 1 baking cup, glue, crayons, confetti.

Spring Butterfly Craft Project


Children place paper confetti inside a small plastic bag and tie with chenille wire to create a beautiful butterfly.

Spring Buds On Tree - Art Project


Give each child a sheet of paper with a brown tree drawn on it. They add the spring buds by dipping a Q-Tip into green paint.
